Brendan Herbert  |  An unpredictable storm

Inspired by the unpredictable nature and vivid colours of Darwin’s wet season, this body of work marks my first exhibition—a playful yet heartfelt response to its chaotic beauty. Using mixed media, ceramics, and experimental techniques, I am hoping to capture the ever-shifting moods and elemental force of the wet. Think mango madness, sticky humidity, stingers, thunder, and sheets of rain—all wrapped in a sensory overload of texture and colour. These works offer a personal glimpse into life lived through the wet celebrating its power, poetry, and the way it lingers long after the storms pass.
