The relationship between art and music is often the source of my inspiration as in my paintings for this exhibition. My interest began with my love for the music of The Planets by Gustav Holst, written between 1914 and 1917. My research led me to the astrology that inspired the composer, followed by a closer study of the music he composed, and the beautiful images of the planets as seen by the Hubble Telescope. Then came the excitement of the James Webb telescope images of distant galaxies. Finally, I was back on Planet Earth and I found my inspiration in the gardens of my home environment. All the paintings in this latter section of my exhibition are painted from nature and inspired by the incredible music composed and performed on Planet Earth.
